SAAPA BOARD MEETING – 6 JULY 2011

Present: Craig Fordem, Jay Lawrence, Harry Ruhsam, Jack Reilly (A quorum was not present for voting purposes).

Meeting was called to order at 1730 by Craig Fordem, President.

Items Discussed:

Membership – Jay Lawrence reported 210 paid up members to date. Dues keep trickling in. Each new member requires a sponsor.

Treasurer – Currently over $9,000 in bank, after funding three scholarships for the Aerospace Academy. Burn rate slow, about $100/month, excluding financing of socials.

First Friday – The Board decided to postpone formal First Fridays until September, in keeping with policy in earlier years to avoid the summer heat/vacation season.

Website – Progress is continuing; J. Reilly to send retainer check to Capstone when advised by Craig Fordem or Scott Smith.

Quarterly Dinner – To be discussed at Saturday meeting.

Airport Authority – Harry Ruhsam said that the next scheduled meeting, as far as he can determine, is not until September.

By-Laws – Craig mentioned that we need to get moving on the ByLaws revision, to include, among other changes, the requirement that primary officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer), are certificated pilots.

J. Reilly comment – We need a secretary to serve out the remainder of 2011.

SAAPA will be hosting a Fly-In at SGJ in September.

Craig Fordem suggested a new board position, FBO Liaison. This can be incorporated into the proposed ByLaws changes.
